Wright School of Dance

15 Dec, 2014

For many pupils enrolling at Wright School of Dance their dream is, quite literally, to one day dance on their tippy-toes. Founded by Principal Joanna Wright, the dance school is a joyous environment to be in and it aims to deliver to those children in terms of developing imagination, strength and technique. Joanna's startling positivity and passion also enables her pupils to become progressively bolder and expressive through dance. Any new logo had to reflect her as the heart of the dance school whilst being technically strong and clear in its premise. So I started drawing ideas centring around the name Wright and dancing figures, eventually developing and simplifying the initial 'W' to represent feet in an elliptical spotlight—the tippy-toes dream! The overall visual identity is designed to reflect warmth, strength and confidence as well as being technically clean and modern. It includes the logo supported by designs for business cards, letters and certificates of achievement, hoodies, kit-bags and the web site. The web site, currently being coded by Dan Hughes, will also include a pupil login area with dance resources and demonstration videos.
